Capsule Retractors

The Capsule Retractors is a solid one-piece instrument, so its performance comes from blade geometry and handle ergonomics. The working blade is specified as 20 mm, 22 mm, and 30 mm, which spreads retraction force over a wider contact area and reduces point pressure on tissue. The handle is ergonomically contoured leverage handle for sustained counter-traction, giving a secure, fatigue-resistant grip through long exposures. An overall length of 10″ (approx. 25.4 cm) keeps the surgeon's hand clear of the operative field. It is made from surgical-grade stainless steel (aisi 304/420) for glare-free, corrosion-resistant service.

Capsule Retractors are used in orthopedic surgery to grip and retract the dense fibrous joint capsule away from the acetabulum, femoral head, glenoid, or knee joint margins, exposing the articular space for reaming and prosthesis placement.

They are indicated for Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA), Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (TSA), Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA), hip resurfacing, and open reduction of joint dislocations.

The instruments are forged from high-tensile surgical stainless steel with an anti-glare satin matte finish that suppresses optical reflections under surgical operating lights.
